A Rosey Grosi Day
Finn took a moment out of his day to stop and smell the roses. The remainder of his time at the Rose Garden was spent racing through the rows of roses, "taking a shower" in the fountain, and picnicking with his rosey Grosi.

A Day in the Life of a Fountaineer
Going to the fountain with Finn is a bit like watching a lion at the zoo. They both have their "routine." For Finn, this involves filling up his containers at the coveted rock waterfall, jumping into the water with full containers in hand, running over to the drain and dumping it, and a bit of frolicking in the water on the way back to the waterfall. Albeit predictable, it's a joy to watch. This was the first real day of summer in PDX and we couldn't have spent it a better way.

Father's Day
Beer and pastries. That was Daddy's father's day wish and we delivered! After a delectable lunch at Bridgeport Brewery we headed to Pix Patisserie for dessert. Having Tante Lauren with us was an extra special sweet treat! Finn enjoyed a dark chocolate lollipop, along with some generous "tastes" of our creme brulee and Daddy's fancy little pastry. Needless to say, Finn skipped dinner. :)

My Cousins... Day 3
Zoo day! Our party of seven trekked to Brookfield Zoo for the day. This really is a great zoo and we all had lots of fun. Highlights included being up close and personal with some gorillas, watching from the bottom of the water as a polar bear belly flopped in for a swim and, if you ask Finn, "the telephones." (There were telephones in tropic world where you could listen to different monkey sounds. As usual, this kid keeps us on our toes.) All three cousins would probably agree that the ice cream and stuffed animals that Grosi and Grandpa treated them to was pretty sweet as well.

My Cousins... Day 1
Finn is extremely lucky to be able to spend some time with his cousins while in Chicago! These three are the epitome of The Three Amigos. Finn's eyes light up as soon as he sees them in the morning and our hearts melt when we hear him say to E or I, "Want to play?" Day 1 was surely an adventure. Within approximately three hours, they ate lunch, played basketball and soccer, conquered the swingset, flew kites, collected bugs, swept the driveway and did a fair amount of watering. Pure elation for Finn and pure exhaustion for mommy and daddy. This also marks the day of "the incident," which I will now describe. Miss E, being the sweet, nurturing cousin that she is, attempted to carry Finn over a muddy patch in the backyard. However, being only slightly bigger than Finn, he took a tumble and was covered in thick, tarry mud. As he ran toward me crying, his hands and arms completely covered in mud, he said repeatedly, "I need new hands! I need new hands!" Nothing a little garden hose and change of clothes can't fix. :)
